The TP-LINK EAP110 is a business-grade ceiling (or wall) mount access point designed for deployment in offices, hotels, schools, malls, or any environment requiring managed WiFi coverage. It supports the 802.11b/g/n standard on the 2.4 GHz band (i.e. “Wireless N”), giving a theoretical maximum wireless data rate of 300 Mbps.
One of its key advantages is that it can be centrally managed (via TP-LINK’s EAP / Omada controller software), allowing multiple access points to be monitored, configured, and tuned from one interface. It also supports features such as captive portal, guest authentication, multiple SSIDs, and enterprise-class security to suit managed network environments.
The “ceiling mount” design allows it to blend into ceilings (or walls) for a clean deployment.
Below are the main features that make the EAP110 suitable for business or managed network deployments:
| Feature | Description / Benefit |
|---|---|
| 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz (Wireless N) | Up to 300 Mbps theoretical wireless speed using 2×2 MIMO (2 spatial streams). |
| Centralized Management | Using the EAP / Omada controller software, you can manage many EAP devices from one console (e.g. configuration push, monitoring, firmware updates). |
| Captive Portal / Guest Auth | Allows guest login pages (voucher, SMS, social login etc.) – useful for public WiFi. |
| Multiple SSIDs / VLAN mapping | You can advertise different SSIDs (e.g. guest vs internal) and map them to different VLANs for network isolation. |
| Automatic RF management | The AP can auto-select channels, adjust transmit power, avoid interference, etc. |
| Load balancing / rate limiting | Helps manage many clients by distributing load or limiting client bandwidth. |
| Wireless security | Supports WPA/WPA2, 802.1X (enterprise), WEP (legacy), MAC filtering, rogue AP detection, isolation between clients, etc. |
| Flexible mounting | Designed for ceiling or wall mounting, the physical chassis is easy to install in drop ceilings or standard ceilings. |
| Power over Ethernet (PoE) | Can be powered via PoE (passive PoE) so that data and power travel over the same cable. |
| LED control / management features | LED on/off scheduling, monitoring, syslog, SNMP etc. |
